THE LONELY SEED
A seed
A lonely seed
Hustling for a place
In mother earth’s base
He grows
Fending for himself
Attacked
By pest
By drought
By every agent of hazard
Will he die?
Will he faint?
He grows
Seizing not a chance to cease
With much endurance
And such perseverance
That overwhelm
He counts
Days in, days out
Months in, months out
Years in, years out
Seasons come, seasons go
Alas!
The radicle is now root
The stem is now trunk
The seed is now tree
Thus is born a tree
PS: A Nigerian graduate like the seed is subjected to all forms of conditions in trying to secure a job. He finds himself being tossed from one fake employment agency to another under the scorching sun and freezing rain. He has written nearly all types of graduate test available; attended uncountable number of interviews. He looks his life over, nobody to help. He remembers how ashamed he feels every time he meets any of his old friends. The good news is that no particular condition can remain for ever. There is somebody who will never fail you even when men have turned their backs on you. He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. He is Lord Jesus. Invite Him today into your situation and let Him bear that burden for you. And just like the seed you will become established.
